Advantages: Still ocassionally funny

Disadvantages: Looks terribly contrived a lot of the time

'You've been Framed' has long been one of my all time favourite TV shows, that was until a couple of years ago when it started, for me, to go downhill somewhat. The show is basically You Tube before You Tube was, albeit a TV version and therefore subject to a lot more censorship than seems to be the case with You Tube.

You've been Framed is perhaps most fondly remembered for being presented by the late Jeremy Beadle and he has never really been replaced in my book. Hosts since have included former Emmerdale stars and the humourous Harry Hill, but even Harry doesn't manage to ooze the same amount of cheekiness that Beadle did.

The show is centred around me and you, the British public and we are basically the stars of the show. Now, in the beginning it was the era of the camcorder and everyone and his dog seemed to be buying one. For this show all you had to do was film somebody falling over by sheer luck and you would get yourself £250. For the first few years this was really funny and you could honestly believe some of the accidents that were being 'caught' on camera, but this is where I believe some of the problem now lies. Recent series' of the show have, for me, proved that the general public is contriving to set some of these scenes up and you can clearly tell when something just looks put on and I believe that most of the viewers will see it that way too. Sure lots of the scenes are still very, very funny, but there are only so many times you can see a child bump his head in a funny way before you start to doubt the validity of it all. It is surely very tempting to think of the quick money when out and about with a camcorder as I myself have found with my husband. Luckily he does as he is told.

I'd like to think there are a couple more years left in the show but it really needs to start looking at the rewards system for people sending videos in to make it less likely that these out takes look contrived in my opinion.

Summary: The best show of its kind, but could still improve
