The second series of Curb Your Enthusiasm once again finds Seinfeld creator Larry David up to his neck in social misunderstandings and often toe-curling situations as he struggles to fill his time as a wealthy man of leisure. The arc in series 2 concerns Larry attempting to pitch a new television show - based on Seinfeld star Jason Alexander - about an actor who is typecast after appearing in a famous comedy series. Various networks are approached but Larry somehow manages to fall out with most of them in his traditional fashion. The first episode is The Car Salesman and this is a very funny start to the series. This episode also features Seinfelds George (Jason Alexander), as he and Larry discuss the possibility of creating a new ... Read the complete review

Season two is a good example of this as Larry is trying to launch a new sitcom and finds himself in hilarious situations with actors, producers, television executives and anyone else unfortunate enough to encounter him on the way. The show is brilliantly ... Read the complete review

Curb Your Enthusiasm may never be a monster ratings hit, but its first season did garner a wealth of critical acclaim and a rabid fanbase, making it very much a "cult" show. It did well enough to garner a second season (and five other seasons, in fact), and while it would be easy for the show's concept to get one-note, it is invigorated with enough fresh ideas from the genius writer Larry David to keep it witty and hilarious. This season is a lot more reflexive than the first, looking at the life of actors and writers, presumably because David wanted to build the first season on its own merits rather than mooch off of his own fame. In the first ... Read the complete review
