Family Guy season 6 is my least favourite of all the seasons of Family Guy. The show reaches its lowest point to date with this season. The season only has 13 episodes and there are a couple that stand out but that is more because the overall standard of the episodes is not that great compared to the previous seasons of the show. The first disc has 6 episodes and none of them really stand out. Out of all the Family Guy Seasons this disc contains the worst set of episodes. The best episode is episode 4 Saving Private Brian. In this episode Stewie signs him and Brian up to the army and they are soon shipped to Iraq. Once they are there they try a number of different things in an effort to get discharged and return home. The second disc has 7 episodes and marks the turnaround of the show which was on a downward spiral with each episode getting graduallyu worse. However there are still a couple of episodes not worth watching. Episode 7 Chick Cancer has some funny moments but these mostly revolve around the making of Peter's chick flick after he becomes obsessed with them when he is taking to watch one at the cinema by Lois. Episode 12, Aiport 07 is my favourite episode in the season. In this episode Peter decides to become a red-neck and changes his livestyle. When he drops Quagmire off at the airport he decides to take the fuel from the plane and put it into his pick up in an effort to make it fly. As a result Quagmires plane crashes and Peter, Cleveland and Joe set out to try and get Quagmire his job back. Episode 13, Bill and Peter's Bogus Journey is quite entertaining. In this episode Peter and Bill Clinton become close friends until Lois sleeps with Bill. Peter says he must have an affair to be able to get over Lois's cheating. The season comes with a third disc of features containing deleted scenes,a draw peter featurette a Toys Toys Galore featurette and 3 episodes with original commentary (Stewie Loves Lois, Prick Up Your Ears and Chick Cancer). This is the worst Family Guy season out there and is only worth buying if you are a fan of the show and want a complete set of all the seasons. You can buy this on amazon for £10.28 atm and that is a fair price to pay as your not likely to find it for much cheaper than that.
I thought season five and six of Family Guy had some very random moments and more one-percentors than the other seasons. However, even my least favourite Family Guy seasons are still great because the show never gets tedious or old. There are only thirteen episodes like season four because it's actually just half of a series, as they started to get released in volumes after season three but charged the same price. The seasons now contain parts of different seasons that are aired on TV and are different to the US releases. You will have to buy Blue Harvest separately as well. There are no real gems that I've watched multiple times but most of the episodes are funny with quite far fetched plots. For example, "The Former Life of Brian" and "Padre de Familia" are pretty strange episodes but still enjoyable. "Stewie loves Louis" is probably the funniest episode on there where Peter takes Dr. Heartman for sexual harassment after getting a prostate examination which is a hilarious scene and Stewie begins to appreciate Lois more. Is it worth £17.97? I don't think it is. I would say £9.99 would be a reasonable price for this short and weaker season.
I am a huge Family Guy fan, and loved this series. The series revolves around the Griffin Family, Peter & Lois and their kids, Meg, Chris and Stewie (a talking baby intent on taking over the world) and their adopted talking dog Brian. In this series you are finding out more about the characters (Such as Francis Griffin is not Peter's real father) and the jokes and punchlines are even more shocking. Some of the jokes are a little close to the knuckle and you will either be in stitches or very offended! Currently £25.99 in HMV although you could probably get it cheaper if you shopped around. Disk One. Stewie Loves Lois. Peter has a prostate exam given by Dr Hartman and is adamant that he has been violated and takes Dr Hartman to court. A hysterical, over the top, look at how men view intimate procedures. Stewie's teddy bear Rupert gets mauled by a dog, which Lois wrestles in order to save the bear. She performs 'surgery' and Stewie is overwhelmed. He becomes very loving and affectionate to Lois which she is not used to! Quote of the episode - 'I too have felt the cold finger of injustice on my insidey parts' Cleveland. Mother Tucker. Peter's Mother turns up on the Griffin's door announcing she has left his father Francis. Lois takes her out for an evening where she meets Tom Tucker. Peter finds them in bed together and is far from pleased! However, he soon warms to "Papa Tom" when Tom starts to treat him like a Father treats a Son. Quote of the episode - "Glenn, this is Thelma" Lois. "EWWWWWWW" - Quagmire Hell Comes To Quahog. It is agreed that Meg should get a car, so Peter takes her down to the dealership. However, whilst there he manages to buy an Army Tank with the car money. The tank gets impounded after Peter blows up Cleveland's house and runs over Joe's legs. Meg, annoyed takes a job at the new Superstore USA so she can save for her own car. However, the Superstore is having a negative effect on the Town's economy so Brian and Stewie take matters into their own hands. Quote of the episode - 'Oh my God Joe, you look like a half empty toothpaste'. Saving Private Ryan Chris is considering joining the army after they vist his school. Brian is annoyed that the military are trying to brainwash kids into signing up so takes Stewie to give them a piece of his mind. Stewie decides to sign up and because there is a hundred dollar bonus, he signs up Brian too. They pretend to be gay and shoot themselves in an effort to get home. Quote of the episode - 'Room for one more?' Army Guy. 'Hell yeah' Stewie. Whistle While Your Wife Works. Peter manages to blow off his fingers whilst playing with fireworks and becomes behind in his work. So that he does not get fired, Lois comes in to help him. Peter then comes intent on trying to seduce his new 'secretary'. Meanwhile Stewie meets Brian's beautiful new girlfriend (played by Drew Barrymore) but it soon becomes apparent she is slightly dippy. Quote of the episode - "Oh, I get it, she's a moron!" Stewie. Prick Up Your Ears. This is one of my favourite episodes! Lois becomes a sex education teacher at Meg's school. She ends up fired as the parents do not want their children being taught about condoms. They get in the church to convince kids to stay abstinent. The kids all buy it, and resort to having 'ear sex' instead. Meanwhile, Stewie trys to kill the Tooth Fairy. Quote of the episode - "Once you go black, you go deaf" Tom Tuckers evening news report. Disk 2 Peter gets in touch with his feminine side after watching chick flicks and decides to make his own. Stewie gets in touch with Olivia Fuller, who he used to perform with and gets married. Quote of the episode - "You don't even know what sex is" Olivia. "It's some kind of cake" Stewie. Barely Legal. Another one of my favourites!! Brian takes Meg to her prom after she threatens to kill herself because she doesn't have a date. They end up kissing and Meg develops an obsession with Brian and kidnaps him! Peter, Quagmire and Cleveland join the police to help out Joe. Quote of the episode - "Oh no, did I do something wrong? Is it coz I didn't sniff your butt first?" Meg to Brian. Road to Rupert. The Griffin's have a garage sale and Brian accidently sells Rupert the Teddy Bear. Stewie is so distraught that they travel to Aspen to find him. Meg has to be Peter's driver after he loses his licence. After pumelling another driver Peter has a new found respect for Meg. Quote of the episode - "Don't you think your getting a bit old for a teddy bear" Brian. "Brian - I'm one." Stewie. Peter' Two Dads. When Francis Griffin dies Peter discovers that Francis wasn't his real father so sets of to Ireland to try and find his real Dad, Micky McFinnigan. When he gets there he finds Micky is the town drunk and the only way to prove he is Micky's son is to out drink him. Quote of the episode - "Your a fat stinking drunk" Francis Griffin. The Tan Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Peter takes Stewie out for the day and Stewie gets a tan. Stewie, impressed becomes a sun worshipper. Brian forgets to wake Stewie up and leaves him on a sunbed for hours. He then finds a mole and thinks he has cancer. Meanwhile Chris beats up Peter for becoming a bully. Quote of the episode - "Quick, get the lotion. Put the lotion on me" Burnt Stewie to Brian. Airport 07. After Peter uses the plane fuel in his car, Quagmire crashes his plane and is fired. He moves in with the Griffin's and the Boy's come up with a way to help him get his job back, but it doesn't go quite to plan and it takes a heart to heart with Hugh Hefner to snap Quagmire into action. Quote of the episode - " I know you have a choice in airport sex and I appreciate you choosing Quagmire. Please exercise caution when standing up as the contents of your vagina may have shifted during coitus" Quagmire. Bill and Peter's Bogus Journey. Peter and Bill Clinton become friends but Lois is not happy with it, fearing Bill is a bad influence. She goes off to have words with Clinton but ends up in bed with him and Peter catches her. In order to even the score she helps him organise sleeping with someone else, so Peter picks Lois' mother! Quote of the episode - " Alright girls, I turned off the AC. First one to have a bead of neck sweat reach their butt crack wins". Bill Clinton. Disk Three has deleted scenes, a featurette on drawing Peter, Toys, Toys Galore featurette (not yet seen), and three animatic episodes. Brilliant DVD for all Family Guy fans!
Family guy has got to be the most hilarious programme i have seen in a long time. How the creator seth macfarlane comes up with the outrageous things that peter griffin, in particular, comes out with i'll never know. That man is a genius!! To be on the 8th series now and to still be coming up with new material the way he does is somethig else, he is a god. Didn't even realise until i watched a behind the scenes programme just how many characters he does the voiceover for. Amazing. now i know, i can hear that it is him, but wouldn't have guessed. I bought my boyfriend the box set 1-7 and we never tire of watching it. I think i've become a bigger fan than him now. Peter's stupid little laugh gets me every time. Every week my favourite character changes, but always love the love-hate relationship of brian and stewie. Can anyone else in the family tell what stewie is saying? Meg i can relate too on so many levels, but we wont go into too much detail there! My boyfriend often wonders where our hotdogs go too! Oops, too much said already. Hope there's many more to come, episodes of family guy that is!
Family Guy is one of those grown up cartoons that you either love or hate. Many say that cartoons are for kids, yet this one is rated 15 and still my kids want to watch it. This particular set contains all of series six on three DVD's. It runs for a total of 278 minutes and has 5.1 surround sound. There are 13 episodes to enjoy, following the antics of the Griffin family. The main two characters I would say are Peter, the dad and Stewie the baby with the funny shape head. In this episode you can experience Lois (wife) heading to bed with Bill Clinton, which is absolutely hilarious. Stewie also had me rolling around laughing when he meets an old friend (as if babies can do this). Some of the lines and phrases that come out of this babies mouth are nothing less than vulgar, but I guess that is the type of humour that makes this funny. Be warned, this is not for the easily offended and you really should keep this away from you kids. I know it says '15' but I would say that by the age of 12 (or less) they know all the terms in Family Guy anyway. This is a very clever type of cartoon and highly recommended.
Ah Family Guy, how very politically incorrect you are but how we love you for it! Family Guy runs up yet another season, this being the sixth and long may it last. Family Guy tells the story of an family living in Quahog who are completley normal except for the alcoholic talking dog, talking baby who dreams of matricide and an evil monkey in the wardrobe...yeah it's a little unusual. Nevertheless the real question and point of this review is, does Season Six match up to its predecessors. Episodes? 13 in total, some absolute classics amongst them including 'Stewie Loves Lois' where Stewies hatred for Lois becomes love when she saves his teddy bear Rupert from a dog. We also continue to see Brians less-than-inteligent girlfriend Gillian (Drew Barrymore) and meet a relative of Peters that he didn't know he had. DVDs? Sorry but the DVDs as a whole are a copout with only 13 episodes spread over 2 discs with a 3rd being barely filled with deleted scenes and animatics. The extras put on the 3rd disc i'm sure would have fit over the other 2 discs to make a slimmer and better priced release. Casing? The design of the discs and casing is again top notch with the favorite characters being featured throughout the disc frontages however collectors will be frustrated to see the side of the box being totally changed compared to the other 5 seasons, only a small thing but still personally a bit of a bug bare when shown as a complete set. Value For Money? At £13.98 i feel this is a little over priced for just 13 episodes but i must say that they are great episodes and so really if you're into Family Guy already, you know you'll end up paying it for another slice of Quahog life. Conclusion? Another great, if not short, season put lovingly on to 2 discs, with a third being thrown in to inflate the price.
Family Guy - Season 6 is the sixth season of Family Guy, the animated sitcom created by Seth McFarlane. Who would've thought that we would reach six seasons after it was canceled the first time? During this season the Family Guy staff celebrated their 100th episode, but because of the feature length film and "Blue Harvest", it's hard to tell which is the actual 100th episode produced. At the end of 2007 there was a writer's strike that lasted for months and saw production halt on virtually every scripted show. Because of this a lot of the season six episodes were put on hold, which resulted in Fox airing roughly one new "Family Guy" episode a month until the end of the season. That is why there are only 12 episodes in this season whereas in season five there were 18. The animation here is very fluid, with very little skips or bad animating. It's like "The Simpsons" but with the "South Park" style of humour. And like Matt and Trey, Seth is not afraid to take pot shots at anyone, regardless of their race, gender or political affiliation. A lot happens in this season for Quahogs residents, in "Believe It or Not, Joe's Walking on Air" Joe has a leg transplant and finds himself able to walk again, in "Padre de Familia" Peter finds out he is actually an illegal immigrant born in Mexico, in "Back to the Woods" James Woods returns to Quahog to seek revenge on Peter by stealing his identity and his family (Woods shows he can laugh at himself with these great performances) and in "The Former Life of Brian" Brian finds out that he is the illegitimate father of an disobedient kid. Overall a good quality season with lots of funny moments, touching moments and more of the brilliant same from your favourite "Family Guy" characters, five stars!
