An absolute classic! Gavin and Stacey is a comedy about two twenty something's falling in love. One is from Barry Island, Wales and the other is from Billericay, Essex. Throughout this six part first series we follow Gavin and Stacey and their hilarious family and friends as they first meet each other, fall in love and eventually get married. The difference in cultures creates some comical consequences.

The series starts with Gavin and Stacey arranging to meet up after they have been talking on the phone together every day for months. After they meet they confirm their love for one and other and the series carries on from there. In the episodes that follow the two lovers families meet each other, begin to plan their wedding and keep a few home truths from each other.

Apart from an amazing script written by Ruth Jones and James Corden (Nessa and Smithy in the show) the programme as a whole is very well acted. Mathew Horne Joanna Page, Rob Brydon, Alison Steadman, Larry Lamb and Melanie Walters play the main characters of the show. A group of amazing actors play a group of amazing characters. The mix between the English and Welsh actors is brilliant.

Gavin and Stacey is a award winning show. Recently it has won many awards including a BAFTA for best comedy. It is well deserved though because the script is original and side splittingly funny.
