When I first heard of Glee my anty had said how she watched the preview of the pilot on E4. She said how brilliant it was and my mum decided to start watching it. I was intrigued about it but as my mum and anty said it wasn't that impressive after the pilot and I didn't have e4 on my tv, I didn't bother watching it. A while after when we went on holiday to Cyprus it was showing on the plane. I watched this and still wasn't that impressed. Whilst at home on study leave from school I was so bored in the day that I started to watch the repeats on e4. Just as I started to get into it the season ended. Last year I began watching the repeats everyday from the beginning and I got so addicted to watching the programme I bought the season 1 & 2 DVD. Mainly because a day was too long to wait for the next episode. This DVD was very cheap for a box set at around £20 for both series. Glee is about a glee club New Directions and follows the lives of the members throughout school. As they are part of glee (a new and unpopular club), they are often teased and have slushies thrown in their faces. The main aim for the glee club is to win a national show choir trophy but this is difficult with Sue (the cheerleading coach) trying to take them down. Along the way they face many issues including bullying, pregnancy, relationship problems and many more which are often taught to them through song. The main characters are: Rachel Berry: a confident teen who is determined to be centre of attention and win the trophy for the club. Finn: a footballer who was made to join glee club after being heard in the shower. Quinn: head cheerleader who is helping sue with her mission. Puck: footballer who was encouraged to join glee. Mercedes: a member of the glee club from the beginning who often has to fight with Rachel for the solos. Mr Schuh: the teacher of glee club. My favorite character is Brittany as she is so funny but still an important member of the glee club. This DVD has a bonus feature jukebox which you can choose to watch a song from the episode and a karaoke sing along for some. I love glee now and some of my fave songs are 'Dont Stop Believing', 'Keep Holding On' and 'Bohemien Rhapsody' (I think it was brilliant how this was incorporated into the other storyline.) This DVD was definitely worth buying and is something I watch again and again. The only thing that irritates me is that the outside box that looks like a locker never sticks together and is constantly coming open however many times I glue it back together. At the start of the first series I wasn't that impressed but it gets better and better the more into the series you get.
