As many only fools and horses fans are fully aware, the show has been cut to pieces, with entire scenes missing from the dvd releases, music being replaced and lines being totally dubbed or simply removed, for those of you who don't know what i am referring too, please read here http://www.british-tv-cuts.co.uk/only-fools-and-horses.html. - You will be surprised by how much has been cut out.
The boxset itself is very nice looking, The DVD's have great menu's, it features every season of Only fools and horses, minus the Christmas specials, if you wanted to have a complete collection you would also have to buy the Christmas specials DVD, or the Complete collection, which includes all seasons and all christmas specials - this can be picked up for around £30
this DVD has no special features, commentaries or bloopers, add this to the missing scenes and it's very hard to rate this boxset highly, the show itself is a 5/5, but the boxset only gets a 2.5/5 from me.
If you have never seen an episode of Only Fools and Horses you are missing out on a unique comedy experience. The show depicts two very different Brothers 15 years apart living with an old relative (first their Granddad, then their uncle). The show holds arguably two of the funniest moments in television history in the famous chandelier and falling through the bar scenes, and the show is worth watching purely for those brilliant pieces of television. Do not think that this show only has physical comedy to hold it together however; it has a brilliantly funny script which has something for everyone to enjoy. With some great characters and compelling story lines Only falls and horses is a must see television series. It's classic British comedy at its best with cheeky innuendos and witty wordplay.
Derrick 'Del boy' Trotter- He's THE Cockney wheeler Dealer who owns a business, which he runs with his brother Rodney, buying (not always) and selling merchandise. He's never short of something to say and is known to be able to talk himself out of the toughest situation.
Rodney Trotter- Del boy's younger brother. Not the sharpest tool but has ambition which Del doesn't really understand. With 2 GCE's he's the most educationally qualified of the family.
Granddad- Although only in it for a couple of seasons Granddad showed he was a very funny and integral character to the show. He was there mainly as the recipient of playful abuse from Del boy and makes the show whole.
Uncle- When the Character who played Granddad died, they brought in Uncle Albert who went on to be part of the threesome which most people know. He played much the same role as Granddad.
With 7 series to get through, this item has hours of potential fun and laughter. So whether it's a night in alone of with the partner i would give it a very high recommendation.
