My daughter really liked Peppa Pig when she was younger. As a result, we bought several DVDs for her to watch at home or while travelling. This was one of them. She was about 2 when we bought this. ---About Peppa Pig Peppa Pig is a character from the TV shows of the same name. The show follows her life with her little brother George, her Mummy and Daddy, and all of her friends. The character is suitable for young children up to age 5-6 years and my daughter who is 3 loves it. Peppa gets up to all kinds of mischief like my daughter, but she generally learns something by the end of the episode. ---About the DVD: This DVD contains 12 episodes from the children's TV show including the titled episode 'Bubbles'. The DVD case contains a picture of Peppa taken from the show. She is playing with a bubble 'wand' and there are lots of bubbles floating around her. The front of the case also tells us it is a U rated DVD so it is obviously suitable for children. The back of the box shows lots of the children from the series wearing their raincoats and wellie boots ready to go jumping in puddles! ---About the episodes: There are 12 episodes on the DVD covering lots of different topics. The first episode, 'Bubbles' is about Peppa and George wanting to go outside to blow bubbles. They run out of bubble mixture so Daddy Pig comes up with a new plan. It all ends with lots of puddle jumping with bubbles! It is a good fun episode and always makes my daughter want to get the bubble mixture out after watching it. The other episodes all tell a different story including the first one introducing Emily Elephant one morning at the nursery. Peppa also gets to learn about recycling in an episode; the children create a time capsule to bury; Peppa and George learn about mysteries and what a detective is; and they discover exciting things in rock pools at the beach. Some of the episodes have a moral behind them so children watching them can learn something while watching, whilst some are just nice stories. ---And finally: My daughter really enjoyed watching these Peppa Pig episodes. One of her favourites is probably 'Recycling' as it has a catchy song and she has learnt all about how to recycle things because of this. I like the fact that some of the episodes teach things as my daughter doesn't realise she is learning at all. Having 12 episodes on one disk gives about an hour of watching which is perfect for young Peppa fans. The DVD cost me £3 which I think is very good value for a children's DVD as they will grow out of it soon enough. My daughter is 4 now, and has moved on a bit from Peppa Pig, but will still enjoy watching the DVD occasionally. I have been quite happy with this purchase and have bought several others from the same range. I would happily buy this for the same price again.
If you've got small children I'm sure you'll know all about Peppa Pig! Well this cheeky little pig is taking over our house! Both of my children absolutely love this programme and so we are often found watching the DVD. This is just one of the many DVDs in our collection. Who is Peppa? Peppa Pig is a television programme which is aired every day on Channel 5 but also on Nikelodian too. It seems that you can't go a day without being able to watch it! The programme is about a little pig called Peppa who lives with Daddy Pig, Mummy pig and her little brother George. The episodes tell of every day events that they experience together so this may be something as simple as going to nursery or visiting their grandparents. The stories are only short about 5 minutes each but they tend to have a moral to them such as being kind to friends or listening to your parents and the stories are told in a way which has elements of humour in which adults can understand and children may not so this makes it really watchable by parents too which makes a nice change! Since Peppa Pig has been aired there are lots of different things you can buy from their range including bed covers, teddies, toys, books, clothing and of course DVDs. We have so many things in our collection I have lost count! Peppa Pig Bubbles I bought this DVD from Debenhams about a year ago and it cost me just £3 at the time. It is available at the moment on Amazon for £4.64. Peppa Pig DVDs do tend to be around this mark and I think that's a reasonable price to pay. On this DVD there are 12 episodes and these include: 01. Bubbles. 02. Teddy's Day Out. 03. Emily Elephant. 04. Polly's Holiday. 05. George's Friend. 06. Mysteries. 07. Rock Pools. 08. Windy Autumn Day. 09. The Time Capsule. 10. Mr Scarecrow. 11. The Boat Pond. 12. Recycling. What is great about these episodes is that they are talking about every day events yet they are really enjoyable to watch and I really like how they are so ordinary really that children can relate to them. There are lots of television programmes out at the moment which are really extreme where children are taken to fantasy worlds and really bizarre situations but these episodes are far more ordinary. I know that obviously these animals are not humans so that is not ordinary but it makes them more appealing to children and it's the actual stories and life events which are easy for children to relate to. Another thing I like about this is that they are not full of action with crazy effects and lots of noise. Sometimes I think children are over stimulated but they are not with this DVD it just tells a story without throwing in lots of detailing. On one of the episodes Peppa makes a time capsule and Hope was asking me about it, I explained what the purpose of one is and she was really interested. It's great that she is learning through watching this although of course I know this is no substitute for school but it's nice to know that her mind is being opened to new ideas which are real rather than the extreme ones you may get from other television shows. One thing I have noticed with this DVD is that Peppa's voice seems to be different so it must be a different child playing her. Hope hasn't noticed this and it doesn't take away from the enjoyment of watching it at all but if you are one for detail it may stick out a lot to you. Our experience This DVD is played a lot in our house! Hope and her little brother are always running around with it and asking for it to be played, they just don't seem to grow bored by it at all. I must admit that it is quite enjoyable to watch, I like the subtle humour in it which is good for adults to pick up on. So many of my friends say they enjoy watching it and when my parents have been round and it's been on I've even heard them have a little chuckle at some of the things that have been said. Some people say Peppa teaches bad manners as sometimes she is cheeky and a little naughty but I think it's refreshing to have realistic behaviour on the television and it's never anything really severe and Hope's behaviour hasn't been hindered by watching this at all. I think it's a great DVD and the children love it. It is well worth £3 that we paid for it. It was originally released in 2007 yet it's still going strong, I think Peppa will be a household name for a long time coming!
I'm forever blowing bubbles. Join Peppa, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig in their many adventures in this wonderful little DVD. Peppa Pig is a firm favourite of my little boy and girl and we really enjoy watching this DVD in our house. The main reason why I first bought the DVD is because I was fed up with all the episodes I had just taped on Sky Plus from the television. The episodes are really only 5 to 10 minutes long each and so I was always having to put another one on but with this DVD I could just press play and get on with a few jobs around the house whilst my kids watch this DVD. Peppa is a girl pig and George is her little brother and in this DVD they have lots of friends such as Rebecca Rabbit, Suzy Sheep and Zoe Zebra and they all join in the different episodes playing and having fun. Peppa Pig is a little bit cheeky and a little bit funny and we love when the pigs snort because they all, including Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig all do this really funny snort from time to time so we are often snorting in our house quite a lot of the time. I find the cartoons a little bit simple but effective. The stories are always quite simple too as they are only a few minutes long but I also think that's enough time to really capture little ones imaginations. There is a voice over man who tells you what Peppa is doing that day and then the characters themselves also speak during the cartoon too. I find the animation a little bit simple but I think it works for very young children as it's not busy and all over the place like some other kids cartoons can be. A few of our favourite episodes from this DVD are as follows: In Bubbles, Peppa Pig and her brother George are playing at blowing bubbles and Daddy Pig then shows them how to blow really big bubbles with an old tennis racket. Daddy Pig drops the bucket and the bubble mixture is lost but it makes a muddy puddle (which Peppa and George absolutely love and we often see this is lots of episodes) and so they all jump in the muddy puddle and have lots of fun. We really like this episode in our house as my kids like blowing bubbles too so we always pretend to be In George's Friend, George meets Rebecca Rabbit's little brother Richard and they learn to share George's toy dinosaur but George does not like sharing, nor does Richard but in the end they learn to play together on the see-saw which is a good lesson for kids to learn, that they can be friends when they find something fun to play together on. In Windy Autumn day it's a cold day and so Peppa and family dress up in hats and coats so they do not get cold on the way to the park. The leaves are red and yellow and it's a really nice autumn scene and they end up all rolling and playing in the leaves, really cute and really fun and I like how this DVD portrays a really happy family having fun together as a family. There are 12 episodes on this DVD and other episodes include, 'Teddy's Day Out', 'Emily Elephant', 'Polly's Holiday', 'Mysteries', 'Rock Pools', 'The Time Capsule', 'Mr Scarecrow', 'The Boat Pond' and 'Recycling'. The DVD is only 60 minutes long which I think is enough television for little kids to watch at one time. We really enjoy it and it's definitely one I would recommend if you are a Peppa fan.
My three and a half year old daughters DVD collection is quite quickly becoming as big as mine. I have stopped buying her any as she always gets some as gifts on her birthday and at Christmas. One DVD in her collection is this Peppa Pig - Bubbles DVD. Peppa Pig is a cute cartoon all about Peppa, her brother George and Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig. It is regularly aired on the channel 5's morning children's programme Milkshake. Each episode is roughly around five minutes long and features Peppa Pig and her family, some episodes also contain Peppa's Grandma and Grandpa and many of her friends, some of these include Zoe Zebra and Richard Rabbit. This DVD was released in 2007 so is one of the earlier DVD's you can buy. This one is quite different from our other Peppa Pig DVD's as it features twelve episodes instead of the ten that the others have. I think that is because there are no extra's on the DVD but extra episodes instead. As with all of the other DVD's, each episode features an everyday storyline showing children what happens in everyday life but in a cute piggy cartoon way. The DVD is available to buy from Amazon for just under £5. The episode listing goes like this: 1. Bubbles, 2. Teddy's day out, 3. Emily Elephant, 4. Polly's holiday, 5. George's friend, 6. Mysteries, 7. Rock pools, 8. Windy autumn day, 9. The time capsule, 10. Mr Scarecrow, 11. The boat pond, 12. Recycling. I won't go into detail about every episode but will outline the first one so you get the gist. Bubbles starts off with Peppa and George drinking orange juice when they spot the bubbles inside the juice and decide to blow through the straws to make bubbles. Mummy tells Peppa to play with her bubble mixture instead so they go off into the garden and Peppa shows George how to blow bubbles. George doesn't quite get the hang of blowing bubbles his self so he dips the stick into the mixture and runs around with it in the air to make bubbles. When the bubble mixture has all gone Daddy Pig asks for a bucket, some soap, a tennis racket and some water, he proceeds to make his own bubble mixture and makes some huge bubbles. At the end of the episode they all start jumping up and down in the muddle puddle. My daughter is tiring of Peppa Pig at the moment so this DVD doesn't get as watched as her other favourite character ones but I think that's just because she's growing up and it's no fault of the DVD at all. It has had a good long run and has been watched over and over in the past so I would recommend it for toddlers.
Everyone loves Peppa Pig...............Dont they? :) While in asda one day, i promised my neice if she was well behaved she could get a present, sooo after a quick trip round th store we headed to the DVD isle & she spotted this 'Peppa Pig Bubbles' DVD i was easily persuaded as it was only £3 and thought it would be perfect for keeping her quiet while i made the tea. Soo once we got home she got settled onto the couch & we put the DVD on.. after an initial about 3minute wait we got to the menu & i clicked Play All as i had hoped to get started on dinner but sat down too wait for it to begin with her, boy was i wrong? ..After watching the first episode and giggling away at it with her, it came to the second, then the third and next i knew it we were cuddled up and on episode 8. The DVD has 12 episodes starting with Bubbles and really is a fantastic quality DVD all about the 4 little pig family and all there friends, its perfect for encoraging children things about family life, friends, sharing, playing games etc. This product is highly recommended (however dont sit down to watch it if your busy) as it really is catchy and sometimes i do wonder why im sitting watching Peppa once my neice has went home!
Children's TV has been the bane of my household ever since my daughter turned one, and started asking "Cbeebies please!". That is, until we found Peppa Pig. I'd heard lots about this little cartoon over the years, but never really gave it the time of day. Then one day my husband (who is generally in the firing line of kids tv, being at home all day) sat me down and made me watch an episode. I laughed. I couldn't help it. My daughter loves the show for the funny voices and the colourful animations. My husband loves it for John Sparkes' dry narration. I love it for how much it reminds me of my own family. Children's entertainment is always at its best when there's something in there for the parents. And Peppa Pig does this with every episode. There will be some expression, or in-joke, or line which will tickle your funnybone, and your child's too! Each episode follows a short simple story, easy enough for a small child to follow. This DVD includes the following episodes from the beginning of series 2: 01. Bubbles. 02. Teddy's Day Out. 03. Emily Elephant. 04. Polly's Holiday. 05. George's Friend. 06. Mysteries. 07. Rock Pools. 08. Windy Autumn Day. 09. The Time Capsule. 10. Mr Scarecrow. 11. The Boat Pond. 12. Recycling. My daughter often asks us to play this on her tv when she goes to bed. She usually sits and watched for half an hour before dropping off, but the episodes are so calming that they never wake her - there aren't any loud bangs or children yelling or such distractions that might usually wake a small child. It's perfect nighttime watching! The only downside is how long the DVD takes to get going. Now there are others out there which commit far worse crimes - like unskippable adverts for example. This DVD has no adverts and gets right to the menu, but the animations for the menu and titles are so long that you have to stand about for four or five minutes waving the remote around before you can actually press play! This seems to be an issue they haven't repeated in more recent DVDs, but it irritates me to no end in childrens DVDs. When you have a screaming child begging to watch Peppa (and yes, let's face it guys, sometimes the only thing we can do to calm them down is give in) you do not want to be delayed!
