I loved Season 1 of Prison Break and was really worried how the production and writing team could even come close to generating the same level of suspense with the new episodes. My worries were obviously unfounded and I quickly settled into a life on the run.

The last season saw Michael, Linc, T-Bag, Sucre and the rest of the gang finally breaking out of Fox River. Season 2 takes place immediately following the spectacular prison break and follows the manhunt coordinated by federal agent and absolute badass Alexander Mahone. It seems we have finally met another character who comes close to matching Scofield's intelligence and there are several exciting moments which see Mahone anticipating Michael's next move and coming ever-so-close to catching him. For anyone who might be concerned that Season 2 may lack the original's heart-in-the-mouth cliffhanger endings, rest assured that they're still here in abundance as the various escapees attempt to evade capture and hunt for Westmoreland's legendary stash.

As well as Mahone we are introduced to several new characters including the suitably sinister Company hitman Paul Kellerman. The Comapny's involvement in Lincs conviction starts to become clearer as the plotline unfolds.

All in all this is a worty sequel to the peerless original series. Yes, I yearned for more prison breaking escapades but the there's always Season 3 just around the corner, right... ;-)
