Advantages: Good Plot, Interesting Characters. Well Paced & Great Ending.

Disadvantages: No action. Long back story. No real surprises.

Sex & the City is the big screen adaptation of the long running TV series of the same name. It stars most of the original cast continuing their roles which all take place 4 years after the end of the sixth TV series.

Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) & John James Preston also known as "Big" (Chris Noth) are happily dating. They plan to move in together & start viewing apartments to buy. Carrie then falls in love with a large Penthouse apartment. Big agrees to pay for the apartment entirely with his own money. Carrie shows a little doubt in the arrangement stating that as they aren't even married she would have no rights to the apartment. To help her get over her doubts, the couple agree to get married. Do Carrie & Big get their happy ending, watch & see.

This is not a bad film at all for a drama aimed squarely at women. The characters are complex, interesting, entertaining & still believeable. The plot ticks along at a good pace & there aren't any sections that seem to drag. Also, the story is interesting. As with most of the original TV shows, the film has a feel good ending & after the way the film ended, I don't want them to make a sequel

Because you will probably know the characters well from the TV show, you will remember them & already know any back story. I'm not sure if the film would be as enjoyable to people who have never watched a single episode. I would certainly recommend the film. Women, in most cases will love it. The men might get Carrie'd away too.

Summary: A very good chick flick. Even for the fellas
