I remember the first series of the IT Crowd getting some fairly mixed reviews. Perhaps people had unrealistic expectastions for a comedy featuring the total genius of Chris Morris and the writing talents of Graham Linehan (Father Ted, Black Books).

I rather liked it myself! And as the general wisdom goes, good sitcoms often take a while to settle in and find their place - so it seems with the IT Crowd, which has garnered more praise and awards with its second outing.

Sadly, Chris Morris is no longer there as the insane, unpredictable and frankly scary boss - but perhaps he had taken the character as far as he could, and Matt Berry makes a fine replacement as his son.

As IT geeks Richard Ayoade and Chris O'Dowd are fab. Katherine Parkinson can grate slightly, but is pretty good. Noel Fielding makes me chuckle as the man even the IT department want to hide deeper in the basement, and the cameos can be a treat (particularly Adam Buxton from Adam and Joe).

I just hope it keeps going from strength to strength.
