Open University in general:
... course very much, and learnt alot. While doing the course i decided to do my psychology degree with them, instead of trying to get all the necessary qualifications and experience for a brick Uni. The Open University was my second chance at education. I was trying to sort out the financial support through the summer, while working full time, and studying the openings course, all at the same time, so alot of probl... University of Aberdeen in general ... I first came north as an undergrad in Aberdeen University I took a wander through the old town, along the cobbled street with its eccentric side alleys, along the Chanonry to St Machar Cathedral, through Seaton Park to the Brig of Balgownie, then back to wonderful King s College, crown towered and golden - and fell in love with the university. I found the mood of the place perfect for study; my idea of what a university should be. I didn t find the place particularly cold and the welcome from my tutor was warm and entirely helpful. Coleraine Campus ... I am in my second year studying geography with international development which was a brand new course last year. The over all layout of buildings is generally very good, most of my classes are in the main building which is well sign posted. The main building contains a fair few lecture theaters which are in general very large on the first floor and decrease as you head up to the second floor and then the library. There is security personnel at the front of the building who are always willing to help you out if you are lost or want to know where something is. The main building also contains the geography and environmental science labs as well as computer facilities ... Read the full review: University Life by chaobreeder16 |

Let me start by explaining the design of an Open University (OU) course. The OU sends you materials such as books and dvds, and depending on what course you are doing, things like replica fossils or language cds; you then work through the materials, at your own pace, submitting your assignments (usually 1-8) as and when required. In between, you attend tutorials and sometimes residential schools, and converse online with others in your course or your tutor group. The materials are excellent, and user friendly. Sometimes the textbooks ... Read the full review: Easily accesible university for all! by Holidaying |
