Open University in general:
... charged a lot of money for a few books and a DVD and just felt like a number on a conveyor belt without any study support. I passed W100 the law foundation course without any problems. After that I wanted to pass W200 and W201 so that I could have a Diploma in English Law, but it felt as if they passed me for W200 so they could have the money, then created lots of problems to make it difficult to pass W201. University of Kent at Canterbury in general ... of Kent is situated in South East England in Canterbury. From London it is just over an hour in the train costing about £16 open return with a 16-25 railcard! So if like me, you were originally from london, it is far enough to give yourself independance and live in a new space other than home, but near enough to come back when you want to! Especially handy when you miss your mum s sunday roast! A lot of home students from Kent generally come from south east london, essex, sussex and kent. Particularly if you are studying English Literature as it is very high in the league tables for that subject. Most popular subjects taken are English Lit, Law and Business. ... University of Lincoln in General ... attended the Uni from 2004-07 it would be fair to say the Uni was still in something of its formative years. That, however, doesn t take away from the disappointing experience I had overall. Whilst many buildings were nice and new, the designers had made some fatal errors. Notably the decision to build an all white building right next to a train line, doh! For all the nice and new shininess of the campus, the actual learning facilities were poor. Not enough lecutre theatres, main areas of gathering too small, seminar rooms badly lit and either freezing or boiling and as for the library... Built in an old railway warehouse the library simply didn t have enough... Read the full review: Cracks already showing by paul1983 |

Open University in general ... taken the science foundation course years ago, I was pleased with the OU as the tutor seemed to be passionate about teaching and encouraged the students. He had spent plenty of time to hand write feedback for the assignments. As I was encouraged from my previous experience, I decided to sign up for the law course and it was completely different. I think they only do the job as it gives them free access (with my money) to the legal data base for their work outside of the OU, that they would have to pay lots of money for otherwise. The course is quite expensive at nearly £2000 a year and there isn t the summer school that most other courses have. There s one tutorial... Read the full review: OU law courses by Karen23 |
