Advantages: Close to social amenities and university, Loads of students from all over the world and the UK, Good student association (OPSA)

Disadvantages: No ethernet access, Few facilities to self cater,considering its size, some areas need modernization urgently eg removal of 3 plug sockets

Now,Im not a very verbose lad,but if this opinion ends up filling this page,i wouldnt be surprised,because i have a lot to say about this hall.Owens park is a catered hall,and at the moment students residing there are both from UMIST and the university of manchester.It is one of the largest halls of residence,and i beleive has the largest student population.
I lived in owens park for two years while i was a student,and i can say i quite enjoyed myself.The food is ofcourse nothing compared to home cooked food,as you may expect,but having said that it wasnt too bad either.There are three dining halls,all serving different meals,and you can choose to go to any that you wish.The security was good,and the social life as well.The down side to it was that their administration wasn't very understanding to students who couldn't pay fees on time,and kept harassing them with letters.I had a mate who was considering leaving the hall because of this.

However,I personally think that staying on owens park was a great experience,and that its a great hall.So if you think of coming to manchester university,id alvise you to apply to it.
