Newest Review: ... entertainment front there are a large variety of different clubs and societies at the University Of Essex. You will no doubt find one to suit your own specific interests at the Fresher's Fair which takes place on the Saturday before the term starts each year. There are choices from clubs such as Rock Society, Goth Society, Sailing Club, Pool Club, Film Society, Silly Society(whatever that is) to name a few as well as there being departmental societies such as the Sociology society where you can go along and chat with like minded people - I prefer to do this in the bar but each to their own :o). The University Of Essex would appear to put an emphasis on the bars and food side of things. There are at present 6 places for you to eat on campus and 4 places for you to get raging drunk(or go for a quite drink...). The student union bar is the most popular watering hole at the campus as its prices are slightly cheaper than the others. This contains 6 pool tables, numerous gaming machines such as Monopoly and Sega Rally, seating for about 50(ish) and being situated close the the North Towers is extremely handy for anyone who needs to crawl home after a bit of a session. Sadly it closes at 11 o clock as does the Top Bar which is slightly more salubrious than the former ...  Read the complete review

The Freshers Fayre is held in the three main campus squares the first weekend of term. The people running all the stalls run by the many hundreds of societies all want you to join their particular group. Whateveer your interests,there will be a society to interest you. There are socieities for sports,all religions,musical tastes,and even a COCK Soc,(cocktails!)
