Beer is reasonable too. Pool is free during the daytime, and the service is friendly and quick. As for The Castle Hotel, that is a five minute walk from The Mill Inn towards the harbour. The Castle Hotel is on South Road and on Wednesdays and Fridays, prices are even cheaper than at The Mill Inn! For the real ale drinkers, you can't go wrong with Wetherspoon's on Alexandra Road. As a student at Aberystwyth University for a year now, I'd like to tell any prospective students or tourists about Aberystwyth's pub culture, making some recommendations along the way. If you are on a tight budget (and let's admit, there aren't many students who fail this criterium!), then either The Mill Inn or The Castle Hotel are pubs to visit.
