Heavy restrictions on numbers mean large queues to get in and then get to the bar. But being in central London there are lots and lots of other places to go. Computer facilities are not good. Old machines that operate slowly and there is a definite shortage of available PCs. Helpdesk support however is very good and you do not have to pay for printing services. Overall, a really good place to study but lacking on the social side and let down by substandard computing facilities. ... more |

A great place to get a degree with really good teaching for those who can motivate themselves. Set in a wonderful location in the heart of London, UCL has some great facilities. However, the Union side of things is really disappointing and the college's bars leave a lot to be desired. Heavy restrictions on numbers mean large queues to get in and then get to the bar. Annoyingly spread over three main sites, it is difficult to meet your mates by chance when out in UCL bars. To compound the problem, the main union is split into three floors which can get quite busy, despite the draconian restrictions on numbers. Expensive relative to other Uni bars, but better than London pubs. Seems to have been a swing away from going to the main union over the last few years, so if you're after a bit of life, go elsewhere. ... Read the complete review
