Newest Review: ... economics student union and a clubbing night on a Friday called: Crush. So, being the adventurous type, i went and explored. What a night Crush is a Friday night even only, normally only during term time of LSE. The drinks are cheap, it's not overly one gender (in other words girls do go there) and the entry fee is cheap if you get there before ten. Three different rooms encompass the Crush experience: The Quad - a large room with a stage which sometimes hold dance offs. Studenty club music, in other words cheese. The Underground Bar - Sometimes a gay bar. (just so you know). Other nights is musically themed : R&B, Hip Hop, Bh... more

OK, so it's a Friday night and I, like many people enjoy a good night out. So my friend John calls me up with the obligatory "We going to crush?", to which I reply "Do children like Christmas?!" I discovered Crush one Friday evening in December 2004. My mate John Called me up and told me about this economics student union and a clubbing night on a Friday called: Crush. So, being the adventurous type, i went and explored. What a night Crush is a Friday night even only, normally only during term time of LSE. Premium Review 'Crush'...take it literally! (305 words)

LSE's main nightlife is centred around the Friday nights antics of 'Crush', on-campus at LSE. Every Friday, LSE's two bars and Three Tuns pub become overrun with literally thousands of students, even drunker than normal, taking advantage of the heavily-subsised bar prices. The cheap prices are great - there's few other places in London where students can get drunk so quickly and cheaply! Plus, it's pretty much the only place to go for LSE students on a Friday night: most West End clubs are ridiculously overpriced and busy on Friday and Saturday nights. £3 entry before 11pm can't be too bad, therefore! The main problem is that ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Bars & Entertainment: A typical student night out... (357 words)

If you go to LSE, there is hardly a more obvious solution for going dancing on a Friday night if you are out of money and have to take a break from overpriced London clubs than the CRUSH. It is loud, very crowded, and the atmosphere is generally good - especially in the beginning and at the end of term. Especially, it is a great place if you want to meet friends from your school, or even alumnis (eg just-started investmentbankers with nice clothes but huge circles under their eyes, on the hunt for girls which are said not be very commonly met in their profession :)). This is very valuable, since there are so many possibilities in London to go out that it might be ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A Literal Crush (341 words)

When you go out for a night on the town, sure you expect to get jostled now and then by other revellers who may have been knocking back the gin and tonics since they finished work for the day. Expectable too is the lack of seating in any drinking establishment found in any area of inner London. However, when it comes to a Student Union, you would expect, perhaps falsly that there would be enough room for more than a handful of students to be able to fit into the Union Bar. Not so at the LSE, where the appropriately named Crush on Friday nights is exactly that. From experience it is not too comfortable and the atmosphere is less than exciting since it is impossible to do ...  Read the complete review
