Advantages: cheap, meet friends, central

Disadvantages: music, crowded

If you go to LSE, there is hardly a more obvious solution for going dancing on a Friday night if you are out of money and have to take a break from overpriced London clubs than the CRUSH. It is loud, very crowded, and the atmosphere is generally good - especially in the beginning and at the end of term. Especially, it is a great place if you want to meet friends from your school, or even alumnis (eg just-started investmentbankers with nice clothes but huge circles under their eyes, on the hunt for girls which are said not be very commonly met in their profession :)). This is very valuable, since there are so many possibilities in London to go out that it might be difficult to meet people you know at a venue. Another advantage is that the drinks are really cheap. So, if you want to celebrate but not spend too much money - this is the place to go.
However, there are some drawbacks as well: you have to arrive considerably early, since it closes already at around 2am. Otherwise you might have to queue. Besides, it is not funny to get there at around 12, when everybody else who went there right after the last lecture is already completely drunk, and you do not have time left to catch up. Another disadvantage is the music: typical student music, always the same, and sometimes mixed badly. Depending on your own age, you might also find that the clientle at CRUSH is very young, and just in this I drink everything until I puke into the flowers outside the Crush and fall asleep phase.
Summary: I recommend the Crush to LSE students at the beginning and end of term, when you want to meet people from your course. Besides, I recommend to everyone who is looking for a cheap and central location to dance and drink on a Friday night. It is not for you if you feel like a posh night out, want to dance all night (although it could be a starting point), and like innovative music.
