Newest Review: ... in one club as well as free beer 3 times in the evening, it was lethal and massive hangover was to follow. The university is good in that is provides transport to its chosen student nights. The weekends are especially good for pub crawls along the barbican which is the area around the harbour, marina and sea front. There is no shortage of good and individual bars. My personal favourite was always "Cuba" which is opposite the uni and does fantasic and reasonably priced food and cocktails. I have to be honest that Plymouth doesn't have the best nightlife in the world, but i do have to agree that it is quite varied. I wouldn't advise anyone that is into the dance scene to come to plymouth as the clubs really aren't that good. Plymouth really has cornered the market in cheese though and there are a good few 70's and 80's nights as well as good cheesy chart nights. The student nights have in the past been quite creative. The nightlife in plymouth has something for everyone. It has a varied scene from student bars in mutley plain, to clubs on union street, to the more sophisticated Barbican area. the best places to eat out are the barbican although cheaper student eats can be found in the pubs along mutyley plain, espcially the hogs head. Several takeaways are also found in mutley and north hill which is the area the student live.
