Advantages: Nice Decor, Cheap Alcohol
Disadvantages: No Atmosphere!
The Robert Gordon University Union is situated at School Hill right next to the Robert Gordon College. There is a bus stop right next to it and is slap bang in the middle of Aberdeen city centre. Easy access for any students out on a night out. The RGU Union has just recently been done up so to speak. It used to be poorly decorated with not many facilities for the students frequenting the place. It now is nicely decorated. The ground floor has a shop suplying all your student requirements, folders, pens, fags! On the first floor there is a cafe like set up. Perfect for lunch time, and in the evening it has alcohol on offer. The second floor has another bar set up. To give the RGU Union its due, it is a nice place to go to but unlike its rival, the Aberdeen University Student Union, it has nothing to offer the student on a night out. The fact that the RGU Union is half the size of the Aberdeen Student Union doesn't help. The fact that there is not nightclub as such doesn't make the RGU Union very appealable. There aren't many theme nights organised to attract the students in. No students equals no atmosphere and this lets the RGU Union down massively. Maybe the RGU Union will find a way to attract students in, but until then it isn't a place high on my list for a good night out!
