Bournemouth University in generalNewest Review: ... that bad and managed to get a huge group of friends and now feel at home in the University. This was the best feeling and therefore suggestions to newcomers are just be yourself, don't shy away and even the people you think of as complete idiots can turn out to be some of your best friends. Anyway, I digress. The University facilities got worse as they were building and to make things worse it turns out they were building an ever so expensive Costa coffee. I hate these expensive places and as we are students and have a serious lack of money I think the decision was awful here. I had a major addiction to the breakfasts at Uni which were a... more |

I am a student at the University. Ill take you through a few issues per my years and the strong points. I am on the law course- going into final year. First year: I hated this year. Everything was new to me this year and I had no support from the surrounding people. I will take some of the blame as I was very shy and unconfident so I hid myself away in class and then escaped to my ex boyfriends house at every opportunity. The year leader shows her favourites very strongly, she has not got the ability to socialize with all persons and therefore only socialises with those who she sees fit. Unfortunately I was not one of those and therefore had ... Read the complete review

The say Univeristy is supposed to be the best days of your life, having spent my University days at Bournemouth Univeristy i can say that is definately true. I started off with a HND in tourism and business and was sent to the Isle of Wight!! not what i expected, but they used the college in Newport as its Univeristy affiliated, well situated for studying tourism. At first i thought i wasnt going to experience Univeristy life, but this campus is just as any other. Had student nights in Newport and its own Summer Ball, the bonus was that we went to all the balls in Bournemouth also. The final year when i did the HND top up i was based at the University. I was in a ... Read the complete review

not for international students
I am studding at BU at the moment and would not recommend this choice to anyone.
BU advertised itself as internationally friendly but the true is completely different. We get treated disrespectfully all the time. I heard from my teacher that international students don`t get tel numbers form English students etc.
Secondly they are reviewing the courses at the moment and basically giving a suck to lats of academics so they seem to be under stress what affects students. They change the teachers all the time, do not run lectures, (because they are out) and get anyone to teach.
Language center is getting closed and there will not be a lot of possibilities to study languages what is again not very motivating for international students....
Don`t waste your money!

I'm not generally a very sad person... Quite the contrary. I was fine up until I started uni, and I was fine after I left. When I was told in my second year that my doctor wanted to put me on fluoxetine and expose me to a happy lamp for 15 minutes a day, I wasn't really surprised. I had to leave Bournemouth Uni after two years of LLB Law as it was killing me (slightly dramatic... more accurately, it was making me want to kill me). To be fair, Law really wasn't for me. I was good at it, but never enjoyed it in the least. I now work in advertising and couldn't be happier!! As I didn't finish the last 3 years of school in the UK (I am British but lived ...
