Advantages: Very down-to-earth and friendly

Disadvantages: city a bit rough

I have been at DeMontfort since Sept 05, and so far have been very pleased with my course (BA History). All except one of the lecturers have been excellent - very enthusiastic, knowledgable and friendly. Students are treated with respect and help is always at hand.
If anything, I would say that standards expected do seem a little low - the grades seem rather generous in my opinion. But who knows? and I think students would benefit from being set more essays, as too much relaxation leads (for me anyway) to complacency and lethargy!
If you like getting pissed every night, this is also the place to be (although for the likes of me who does not, the ensuing noise is rather disruptive).
There are plenty of good societies available - sports, religious, course-based, and the gym is excellent value for money.
Overall an excellent, fun and supportive place to learn.

Summary: Friendly, supportive, interesting course content.
