Advantages: Some practical skills taught

Disadvantages: unstimulating tutors and lecturers

Now obviously this is my opinion, but as it goes a lot of people seem to think that De Montfort University is an absolute waste of time.

I studied Media Studies and passed with a 2.2 Not the worst but really not the best either. This course was so unstimulating sometimes filled with subjects that had no relation to the field you wanted to work in. Every year there was only one practical module out of 4 which is rubbish, we need as much practical experience as we can. Now that I look back it just seems a bit Mickey Mouse to me. However I did try and save myself and ended up working for a local channel in Leicester called MATV where I learnt to be a reporter, off-line editor, voice over artist.

So I managed to do one better by using my initiative. If you don't have all the resources you need to gain new skills then use your initiative! I just hope I can move up in my career without DMU tainting my CV!

I give this uni 6/10

Summary: Well...I wouldn't do it all over again.
