Advantages: good facilities, amazing night life, nice campus

Disadvantages: a lot of work if your doing music (more than buisness and most of the sciance course ive heard about

right so i started uni in september, and so far... well im not sure what to think. being a music performance student on the first year the course has been run is deffinatly interesting if not anything else.

I am currently at beckett park, which i must say is a beautiful campus, and does have rather good facilities, the studios are amazing (although were not allowed in them till next term :( ) I dont really know much about civic quarter but from what ive seen its a decent campus.

being the first year of our course however things seem rather disorganised, theres been a lot of work in a short space of time, and te need to be able to learn very quickly seems to be upmost. I fyou dont like being thrown in the deep end i wouldnt suggest the music course.

The tutors do try very hard to help you as much as possible, and as far as reshaping the course, a lot of effort has been put in. I think if you want to do music performance at leeds met you might be better off waiting a couple of years for things to settle down. We've lost a fair few students already and it will be interesting to see how many are left by the end of the year.

Generally leeds metropoliten is a lovely university and so much work does go into the courses but i think when it comes down to experimenting with students futures youre playing with matches.

Of course as far as the night life goes and leeds as a city in general, are amazing experiances for any student. theres fantastic shopping oppertunities in the city centre, and a brilliant night life, plus the social atmosphere in halls is amazing.

Summary: a good uni but am a bit unsure of their "development"
