Advantages: Top 15 university with a great academic and sporting record as well as excellent nightlife

Disadvantages: None I can think of

I have recently completed 4 excellent years at Loughborough University, an institution which has been moving from strength to strength in recent times. When you mention Loughborough to people, most of them immediately think of sport, but there is much more to the university than just its excellent sporting achievements and facilities. While the sport aspect of Loughborough will always remain as a major selling point, in recent years the university has been improving rapidly on the academic side of things. Loughborough is currently ranked as the number one university in the country for engineering and is one of the best in the country for IT and mathematics as well as several other subjects.

Another area in which Loughborough University is very strong is in it's overall student experience. Loughborough is a great place to live and is renowned for being an amazingly fun place to spend your time at university which is reflected in the fact that it has won the 'best student experience' award for the last two years running. Loughborough University is also famous for having the biggest and the best student's union in the country which hosts many great nights out and events during the year. As any former student will confirm, Loughborough really is a fantastic university to study at.
