Advantages: choice of courses, good lecturer's, student societies. social life, friendly atmosphere

Disadvantages: High living cost.

My hubby finished his MSc from Oxford Brookes and loves the university like anything.

The university main campus headington is located near town with frequent bus service. The other campus in wheatly although is a bit furthe out of oxford has a university run bus service all year long. And if you are living in the halls of residence it's free. Else you buy a season ticket which i think is reasonable priced. The buspass gives you discounted ride on other bus services i.e. 50p for a single ride on different routes.

The courses are well laid. As the other review said the university is climbing up in the "ranking ladder". Within a few years Brookes has gainted the respect and the reputation. My husband had his summer intern where most inters are from brookes and the employer thinks really high of the students.

The halls of residence are mostly new buildings with internet facilities in every room (£2 a week is not much for a high speed internet connection).

There is a purpose built building on Headington Hill for the music students and the Student Services is very helpful. There are always some kind of party going on at the Student Union every weekend.

The morels bar is very famous for its gigs.

Overall I think students from Brookes are well trained for their future challange. One day it might challange the Oxford University itself. My hubby had a Oxford graduate in his class. So I guess the uni has a potential.

Summary: A great Uni in the heart of a historic city
