Psychology At The Open UniversityNewest Review: ... never really got going, but the general one seems to get more use. Finally cost. Studying with the Open University is not cheap. SD226 costs £340 and is the cheapest level 2 course. Child Development (ED209) is likely to be my next course (but I'm taking a year off long courses to get over this one!) and that currently costs £610. However, you can use Tesco Clubcard vouchers as part or whole payment for courses and this works out at extremely good value. Overall SD226 is a tough course. I really shouldn't be writing this review as I have an end-of-course assessment due in 4 days and have still to complete the 600 word essay and reseach project write up, but hey, I needed a break and this is what I chose to do whilst drinking my tea and eating the Thornton's choccies that my other half has lovingly supplied to boost me through the final hurdle of this course. My first degree, completed in the usual 3 years from 18-21, is in Sociology and was obtained through full-time study at a traditional university, my law post-grad diploma completed over two years part-time and was also obtained from a traditional university, so I can safely say I've ... "Introduction to Psychology", soon to be updated and perhaps reintroduced under a new name, is the first of 4 OU psychology courses. Together they entitle would-be shrinks for BPS membership, and you have to complete them all for a named degree in Psychology. As I already held a degree in Law, I decided to start my OU studies at Level 2, (which equates to years 2-3 at University). There is, in fact, no Level 1 course in psychology - a broad introduction to the social sciences usually suffices.
