Advantages: small size

Disadvantages: limited reputation

I just read the last review on Queen Margaret University and I would like to say that it needs to be updated.

The university has built a new campus in Musselburgh just outside Edinburgh. The new campus also includes new halls of residence. The rooms have a good size and are all ensuite! Kitchen facilities are shared with a number of people depending on the category. One major negative point: you can not adjust the water temperature in the shower! This is a result of the university's sustainabile policies. You have to get used to it!

The student union is quite small but the location is nice. Sports facilities include a sports hall and a fully equiped gym (everything brand new). There are a lot of sports clubs (football, bastketball, badminton etc.) or spinning and fitness classes available to all students.

On the academic side, it offers a number of courses in different areas such as nursing, drama, hospitality and business and enterprise.

The new campus is the most sustainable university campus in the UK. Also, there is more and more high profile teaching staff coming to QMU and the university's reputation is growing. Although the university is growing in size, it is still small enough to have sufficient one-to-one contact to lecturers and tutors.
The university has also a sister campus in Singapore.

It might not be one of the best universities in the Uk but it can be a great place to start your studies.

There is a great diversity among students. They come from different nations and different backgrounds.

Summary: getting better and better
