Southbank University in general

Newest Review: ... opinion is related to my experience on the BSc (hons) Media and Society degree - duration 3 years. However, what I have concluded is that South Bank's facilities are good, a massive library with four floors plenty of space to bury your heads in a book at exam time. Although the books available for my course are slightly limited and needs improving (probably because it is a newer course), the other courses seem to be well stocked up. The LRC at South Bank (or the computer room to me and you) is a spacious building with many PCs, where they have actually just filled the third floor with brand new ones. The diversity of people at South Bank... more

Currently in the second half of my third year at South Bank University. I feel that I can evaluate my time here and pass on useful information for those would be freshers who are considering doing a degree at South Bank. Obviously, I cannot speak for all the courses, therefore my opinion is related to my experience on the BSc (hons) Media and Society degree - duration 3 years. I have been at South Bank University for one Semester studying Internet Computing and I have noticed that me and some of my friends are having trouble with logging on to the University computer network. I would suggest that as soon as you have any problems with your user account you go to the help desk in the Learning Resource Center to get new account passwords etc. You can't print out anything at University without an account on the network! ...  Read the complete review

As a second year student at southbank I feel that it has its advantages and disadvantages. I am a student nurse and decided to carry on living in the family home, this I would not advise to anybody. University is about branching out and becoming independent which I am not achieving. People that live in halls can stay up late and get up late and it is hell trying to get in touch with tutors as the course I am on and I expect the same for the rest of the university is that it is very disorganised. The area of elephant and castle is not the greatest but it is close to lots of clubs and bars etc. If I had the choice of going to a different uni then I probably would ...  Read the complete review

Just at the Elephant and Castle tube station the London South Bank University begins. All along London Road and Borough Road you will find the Universities buildings. There is plenty for the student and staff. There is a gym, 2 cafeterias, university restaurants and a student union. There is also a bank affiliated with the university and local pubs nestled into the scenery. South Bank host a lot of international students creating a diverse campus. The University runs many student schemes to promote awareness of university life and the advantages to an education. There are tons of courses to choose from and a range of majors and concentrations. Visit the website ...  Read the complete review

I was lucky enough to study at South Bank for 5 years. During this time the lectuers provided excellent support both for work and social problems. I whole heartly recommend this University for anyone wishing to study any Built Environment courses. The courses have been designed to overlap with each other, therefore providing an excellent knowledge of all aspects of the courses available. They provide excellent resource facilities. My best time of living in London occurred whilst here, friends are made for life and all here are truely friendly and trusthful. Sports facilities here are free or a small price to pay for he hire of such thigns as pitches. The university ...  Read the complete review
