Advantages: in london!

Disadvantages: in london-can be expensive

I moved away from London to do my undergraduate studies since back then I thought the cost of living was too high, but I did my post-graduate studies at UCL. This is a great university to be at, tucked away in the center of London behind Tottenham court road and just across the road from Euston station, the quad is a haven of tranquility in a chaotic city. This makes it easy to pop out to Oxford Street at lunch time (can become very dangerous) or over to Soho for a night out. As a post-grad I had a bit more spending money making a lot easier to have fun at a London uni.

Even thou it's a campus uni UCL owns that majority of the surrounding buildings as well so I was often out with a map trying to find which posh looking house my course was in. Loads of post-grad social event are organized. Also loads of live music events. Great mix of people from all over the world making it a really interesting place to study. Great links to business for experience. Loads of training courses to go on and placement programs.

As a post-grad now you have to get 20 points from training course each year to be able to graduate, which can be good if you pick the right course, but annoying if none of them are relevant to you. Courses cover languages, teaching, skills etc. 1 point per half day training.

Its really close to the University of London Union as well, so you get 2 unions for the price of one!

Bloomsbury theater has loads of really good shows on Ricky Gervais (an alum) did a special show her recently for students.

Gym is really cheap £140 for a whole year inc all classes and gym (no pool, bu ULU has one and it very close)

Bars; the Gorden street union has a number of different bars inside it, all cheap (for London £2/pint) but are not very classy (they are student unions you have to remember) Huntley street has another bar. The Print room café is really lovely but shuts at 6ish.

Cafés; couple of ones that serve sandwiches circa £2.50 and coffee £1.00 just as you'd find at any other uni.

2 Shops for pens; sandwiches etc and a hair salon, which in my opinion is too expensive.

Stations; Euston Square (circle, hammersmith and city, district line) and Warren street (Victoria) Euston and Kings Cross (10 min walk) provide trains in to herts and beds and the north.

Summary: world class uni in a world class city
