Do Not Go !!!! Oh my god I went to Aberdeen University to study Psychology in 2002. The Hillhead accommodation is a rip off and depressing, the union closed down, I couldn't get a seat in Lectures they obviously over booked the course, I got to second year and passed my psychology exams my grades weren't amazing but they were good passes but they wouldn't allow me into honours. I asked my advisor for some advice and he sent me this...
Your possible plans seem to be

1. Redo second year in the hope of boosting your performance in Psychologyto justify Honours entry (you would still need to pass other courses as wellin order to get up to the full credit count). This costs money, obviously. On the basis of your general performance in the University so far you haveto ask yourself whether it is at all likely that you will be successful inthis plan.

2. Come back next year to try to get enough credits for an Ordinary degree(even lower grade than the Designated degree). You need another 80 creditpoints and at least one other subject at level 2

3. Go into third year Psychology and hope to get a Designated degree. Thisisn't easy. You will have to get another 50 credit points at level 1 or 2and then 90 credits in level 3 Psychology (that's passing 3/4 of third yearPsychology). On the basis of your performance so far in the University, Iwould not give you much chance of achieving this - though you do have acouple of years in which to pile up the credits.

4. Think of transfering to another institution. The main problem here, Iimagine, is that you have used up 2 years of money already and might not bewilling to afford another 3 years. Your only 'cheap' option would be to finda university or college that would admit you to (English) second year. Somepolys might admit you to 2nd year on the fairly solid basis of Aberdeenfirst and second year psychology. If you are thinking along these lines thenyou should probably speak to somebody in the Psychology department, whomight know where best to try. I'm ignorant of Psychology degrees.

Sorry if that's all rather depressing,
John

They give you advisors who are ignorant of your degree subject not exactly inspiring, my best advice is BEWARE. I spoke to lots of students that had the same experience make sure you get the degree that you pay for.

Summary: BEWARE choose course wisely
