University of Bradford in general

Newest Review: ... are some of the best choices. From a student ponit of view,I can sense that Bradford University is getting better. But the disspointing bit is, Bradford city itself is not as good as I'd expected, so times when I want to find something exciting, I will have to go to Leeds, though it is very near. To summarise: 1. If you are good but not rich, come to Bradford; 2. If you are good and rich, leave Bradford alone; 3. If you are not that good, you can always try Bradford. Best wishes to your University applications! PS. It is very easy to get accommodations around the university, there are plenty of them, most students can find a house with... more

Having been studying in Bradford University for nearly two and a half years, I feel like I could share some of my views with you. I am now a final year student in Electronic Engineering. We have quite a number of good students in our class(of course,as well as poor ones)coming from different countries in the world, they came to Bradford because it is 'MUCH more cheaper than anywhere else in the UK', and Bradford University also offer a number of scholarships to overseas students who had been doing well in their A-levels(high schools),so believe me,Bradford really has got a lot of good students.:)And as a relatively 'new' university, the learning ...  Read the complete review

Gosh those were the days, the endless party's, constant daytime and pre lecture drinking, smoking strange aromatic foliage and tobacco, the endless swearing, deliberately missing lectures, endless appointments with the Dean of Faculty to explain the poor results, disrupting exams ...the constant sexual innuendo?s and Adult Video parties....and that was just the lecturers..... ~~o0o~~ Seriously though Students are all labelled as free loaders, enjoying the life of Riley, living it up down the 'Biko Bar' or whatever else you've named your politically correct local Students Union watering hole, the constant parties, the socialising, ...  Read the complete review

The University of Bradford is seen by a lot of people as a poor relation to the university of Leeds, just 9 miles down the road. In many ways, I suppose it is, the variety of courses on offer at Bradford is less, and it is smaller, and consequently does not have all the facilities of Leeds, but it is actually a great place to be, and here is why: 1) Whilst the number of courses on offer is fairly small, a lot of the courses are ones that you will only find at a small number of universities around the country, such as Peace Studies, Pharmacy, Optometry etc. 2) Many of the courses have received "excellent" rating in TQA (Teaching Quality ...  Read the complete review

Something smells nice, whats cooking. Bradford the home of beatiful Indian restaurants and alot more besides. But here Im talking about the University. I have visited this university and it is not bad. Not excellent but not bad. Although it is a bit sad like, the University does require high grades to get in, that must mean something. The University must be good in terms of the academic side of things. However I decided not to go to Bradford for several reasons: -Transport to Bradford sucks -Location of the University is a bid odd -Bradford as a whole does not appeal to me -Facilities did not seem to good when I visited (98) ...  Read the complete review

Bradford itself is a fairly quiet city, with an awful architecture and planning. The University of Bradford is a middle of the class University except for the Peace Studies Department and the Management Centre based degrees. It has a small library, a computer centre that simply does not work (they had their servers hacked recently, this shows how the professionals are) and a Sports Centre that is poor. My experience was with the Civil and Environmental Engineering department. A good department with a rating of 5. The department lacks staff for the number of students (i.e. funding) it wants to recruit. It offers Civil Engineering, Civil and Environmental ...  Read the complete review
