University of Bradford in general Reviews

Newest Review: ... a little gory, Undercliffe cemetery with its Victorian monuments is not to be missed. · Bars The University has a pub on campus, but it's not too great. There aren't a lot of bars in the centre of Bradford, but I did love Delius, and the Wetherspoons 'Sir Titus Salt' is really nice. Both are close to the University. A little further out you will start to find some nice places, and each one has a different personality. I could give you a list, but it's a case of trial and error to find one you like. Negatives: · University I said before that it was when I came to do my dissertation I had problems. Let me first of all state that my exper... more

Bradford Bradford Bradford. What can I say? I didn't care for the city, and nor did I care for the University that much. I did a postgrad in Bradford, about two years ago now, and whilst I don't regret or begrudge the year spent doing this degree, I certainly wouldn't go back there for another course. But my experiences won't be the same for everyone, so I'll do this review fairly with pros and cons. Advantages: · University Bradford University is a relatively new establishment, and whilst it doesn't yet have the kudos of other universities, its reputation is growing rapidly. Because of its current standing it has to do a bit more ... Read the complete review

Having been studying in Bradford University for nearly two and a half years, I feel like I could share some of my views with you. I am now a final year student in Electronic Engineering. We have quite a number of good students in our class(of course,as well as poor ones)coming from different countries in the world, they came to Bradford because it is 'MUCH more cheaper than anywhere else in the UK', and Bradford University also offer a number of scholarships to overseas students who had been doing well in their A-levels(high schools),so believe me,Bradford really has got a lot of good students.:)And as a relatively 'new' university, the learning ... Gosh those were the days, the endless party's, constant daytime and pre lecture drinking, smoking strange aromatic foliage and tobacco, the endless swearing, deliberately missing lectures, endless appointments with the Dean of Faculty to explain the poor results, disrupting exams ...the constant sexual innuendo?s and Adult Video parties....and that was just the lecturers..... ~~o0o~~ Seriously though Students are all labelled as free loaders, enjoying the life of Riley, living it up down the 'Biko Bar' or whatever else you've named your politically correct local Students Union watering hole, the constant parties, the socialising, ... The University of Bradford is seen by a lot of people as a poor relation to the university of Leeds, just 9 miles down the road. In many ways, I suppose it is, the variety of courses on offer at Bradford is less, and it is smaller, and consequently does not have all the facilities of Leeds, but it is actually a great place to be, and here is why: 1) Whilst the number of courses on offer is fairly small, a lot of the courses are ones that you will only find at a small number of universities around the country, such as Peace Studies, Pharmacy, Optometry etc. 2) Many of the courses have received "excellent" rating in TQA (Teaching Quality ... Something smells nice, whats cooking. Bradford the home of beatiful Indian restaurants and alot more besides. But here Im talking about the University. I have visited this university and it is not bad. Not excellent but not bad. Although it is a bit sad like, the University does require high grades to get in, that must mean something. The University must be good in terms of the academic side of things. However I decided not to go to Bradford for several reasons: -Transport to Bradford sucks -Location of the University is a bid odd -Bradford as a whole does not appeal to me -Facilities did not seem to good when I visited (98) ...
