University of Bedfordshire in general

Description: Campuses located in Bedford and Luton.

Newest Review: ... glass extension to the back of Park Square is not only huge, and a really pleasant and attractive space in which to research and study, but it?s also packed to the roof with books, periodicals and computers (all with internet access) to aid in learning. Not only that, but the staff in the library are marvellous, and really helpful, especially with computer problems. The ... more

The University of Luton is based in a large, ugly, concrete building in the centre of Luton, right next to the Arndale Shopping centre. Of course, this is only the main building, usually referred to as ?Park Square? as that?s where it?s located. Until last year there were also half a dozen satellite buildings around Luton, but most of these departments have now been moved into Park Square itself, meaning that the place is now reasonably overcrowded, in my opinion, with several tutors having to share the same, small offices? I studied at luton uni from 1994-1997, coming from wales the staff were great and i thought there was adequate support for the students. The accomodation dept. were very helpful and u could always go and get advice on housing matters. The whole system was satisfactory. I realised this because when i came home, a few years later i decided to do another degree, however in my local uni of glamorgan. Each time i compare the both luton always comes out on top. They have a very good system of handling assignments which gives u a receipt that the work was handed in. In my current uni im they have no such system so there is no way u can prove the work has been handed in. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review University of Bedfordshire in general: My first experience of University, NOT GOOD! (119 words)

I started Luton uni in September 1998 with high hopes. I was enrolled onto a good law course with staff members which were top notch. However, my experiences at the university marred my opinion permanently. THe support system in place for me was not of a high standard. I am not taking away from Student Services but my whole time at the university was a struggle which ended with me leaving in June and not going back to uni again. DOn't get me wrong, It is a good place but I advise people to be careful. THe town itself, for one, is very threatning especially at night so you girls out there just be careful! ...  Read the complete review

I have recently started Luton Uni and I live in Dunstable which for anyone who doesn't know is the next town along form Luton which is about 3 miles down the road. I just wanted to say that I that the social life I have gained from being at Luton uni is fantastic!!Luton Uni may not be much of an educational establishment but you get a great social life and u end up with a degree at the end of your course. What more do u want in 3 years of study!!!!! If you are going to university strictly to get qualifications don't come here but if you are looking for a good time with a qualification at the end of it then this uni is definately for you. Luton has many bars and ...  Read the complete review
