University of North London in generalNewest Review: ... to commute. What really amased me is the amount of foreign students the university takes every year. I guess it is one good thing. But then I also have a few friends who came from abroad and then decided not to study at this uni because they didn't like it. The uni refused to pay back the deposit they paid. So they were in trouble when they went to study in another one because they were ... more |

Well I guess this uni lost it's rating after it took over guildhall uni and merged as London Metropolitan University. Althought the building is tall and looks trendy the class rooms are not really attracting. It looks old from inside and 3 campuses in north london (two in holloway) and the other mile apart makes it hard to commute. UNL was a fun university to go to. I stayed in Halls for the first 2 years before moving in with my girlfriend. It's a great university to go tom full of a rich cultural mix, a great bar (in the halls - avoid the rocket - VERY poor). Accomodation: ------------- Cost: When I left halls it was paid in advance for the term - £850 - £950 per term. Worked out at about £60-£65 per week, takes a whack out of your grant/loan cheque! The mix of people ... Read the complete review

It is not as well-resourced as some of the more traditional universities (which have more money) but I've found the learning environment, mostly as a result of other students, and not necessarily the tutors, to be a positive experience on the whole. The university is based on three sites in Holloway Rd/Islington, with two libraries and a newly built computer building. There are chances to follow modular programmes and a lot of the courses are very much focused towards 'employable' subjects at the expense of more purely ... Read the complete review

I know someone who went to UNL last year and loved it. I have the prospectus and I think it looks interesting. The It facilities are good, there is a good range of courses and it's a modern building. What more could you ask for. And besides, you do go to university to have a social life. Everyone knows that, and surely it's down to the student to decide whether or not to study. You're not kids, you have to make your own mind up about what you want. Good accommodation. Good range of courses. Good social ... Read the complete review
