University of Portsmouth in generalNewest Review: ... now in a central position and there is no need to bring your car to the City. I chose Portsmouth Uni mainly because of the location. I wanted to live by the sea and must be happy with the location because I still live there now, two years after graduating. The university itself is going from strength to strength with an improving reputation. New students won't be disappointed with good sporting facilities and a relatively new student union. If you get bored of the Union, Portsmouth has several areas full of bars and clubs; this means there is a student night every night. On top of that there are clubs covering almost everything you c... more |

I studied at the University of Portsmouth for four years doing a BA (Hons) Business Studies degree. During my time there the business school was moved into the City centre, alongside the other university buildings. This means that everything is now in a central position and there is no need to bring your car to the City. I chose Portsmouth Uni mainly because of the location. And everywhere I've been, the lecture teachers have been misserable, self-obsessed, no-sence of humour, etc etc. At Portsmouth however, the media teachers are brilliant. They really have passion for their subject, and most of all their students. Most of the subjects are really interesting and relevant, and you will have a great ... Read the complete review

Where do you start? Pompey uni as its known is rapidly becoming one of the largest student communities in the South, with roughly 20,000 students, so there is quite a few of us. I am currently on a computing course stream and am off to a year out placement in industry and i must say im going to miss the place next year. The uni has loads of courses to offer but pick carefully as some are rubbish from what ive heard from other students, this is due to the university being a Polytechnic until 1992. But dont let that put you off as it isn't like the horror stories that you hear like Anglia Polythechnic, that all your teachers might tell you about. It has ... Read the complete review
