I am currently in my final year as Salford. I am studying for a Nursing Diploma. I have enjoyed every moment at Salford and I still can't believe that I am actually at University! I am 44 years old and left school at 16 with no qualifications. I returned to study in 2006 for Maths and English GCSE't s followed by an Access to Health Care course at a local college. I have 3 children and time management is always a challenge.
I have had the most amazing support from all the Tutors. The Mary Seacole building is amazing, very modern. The library is well stocked and the staff there are always willing to help. I was diagnosed with dyslexia in my second year and was given an enormous amount of support and guidance.
I do my 'placements' at Salford Royal, again support is always at hand if I need it. I travel to uni by train from Hazel Grove which goes directly to Salford Crescent which is on campus. I always feel safe although I never venture into Salford or Manchester. Saying this though I did a community placement and I think Salford is an amazing, vibrant area, lots of great people and I never had any issues.
I couldn't of wished for a better University or Hospital setting. LOVE IT!
Summary: Thank you Salford
