Advantages: Great town and people

Disadvantages: you wont want to leave, very isolated

I spent three years here studying for a history degree and have to say it was the best three years of my life.
I made my decision by first visiting the university on an open day and immediately fell in love with the town and how friendly the staff and people were, and the course was also exactly what I wanted to do so off I went.
Having the national library on your doorstop is also a bonus especially when doing a degree that involves a lot of research like mine did.
I was lucky in my first year accomadation in terms of my view- getting a room right on the sea front with a sea view, although without double glazing it did get pretty cold in the winter, but the accomadation is to a high standard and they are constantly making improvements.
The nightlife in aber is also fantastic despite the lack of clubs- there being three in total, Pier Pressure- the ultimate in tack, The Bay where your feet stick to the floor but is absolutely the best place to be, and Why Not which has awesome music and comfy sofas, if you manage to get one.
Aber is a bit out of the way and you will do most of your shopping in Lidls and Somerfield if you have a car or the inclination to walk to the next town there is a morrisons, but you will find that you have everything you need to survive in Aber and you wont ever want to leave.
