Three great years (University of Wales, Aberystwyth in general)

Advantages: Small, cosy town - very friendly

Disadvantages: Lack of shops - only one nightclub

I have three outstanding years at this university. Aberystwyth is a great town to live in as the locals actually welcome the students (the whole Welsh/English thing only becomes an issue when the rugby is on!) and the atmosphere is so laid back and casual. People in shops make an effort to get to know you and make conversation - after about three weeks there is no way that you could walk along the promenade without bumping into someone you know. Its got to be on of the safest campuses in the UK - you can walk anywhere after dark (in whatever state of drunkeness you choose) and be totally safe. The campus is relatively small yet the SU provides great services and constant and varied entertainment. The accommodation and food is desperately cheap. In short, its a great university in a great town.
