Aberystwyth is an unusual little town and has very interesting physical features including; cliffs, sandy beaches, stony beaches, a harbour, various hills and old architecture. However, whether you'd want to study there is another matter. I lived and studied there from 2004-2007 and my course was English Lit. Firstly, I have ... Read the complete review

I spent three years here studying for a history degree and have to say it was the best three years of my life. I made my decision by first visiting the university on an open day and immediately fell in love with the town and how friendly the staff and people were, and the course was also exactly what I wanted to do so off I ... I've been here for almost a year now, and when I look back at on my hopes and dreams for this place I realise how naive I've been. Aberystwyth is rated highly in the student satisfaction tables, but also boasts one of the highest student suicide rates. So what are the reasons for this? Well, the majority of people who go to ... Since I'm nearing the end of my first year now, I feel that I know enough about the university to give my overall opinion of it. However, my knowledge is pretty much limited to the main campus as there is also Llambaran Campus (otherwise fondly called "Cow Campus") a mile down the road (mainly for students who study ... Currrently doing my degree at Aber Uni, there are some good things and some bad things about this place!! The atmosphere is terrific even though the nightclubs, or should i say nightclub are tacky (yes, i am talking about Pier Pressure), the friendly faces and alcohol make you forget where you are. The people are good aswell. I have ... Read the complete review

Ask anyone who came to Aberystwyth University (or Aber as it is commonly known) and they will tell you how great it is. Having studied there for 4 years, I can honestly say it was great. I even met my wife there! :) It's a great uni, and the town is so friendly. There is the sea, lots of pubs, and the pier for a nightclub. ... Read the complete review

After not being offered a place at University I went through the clearing system. Aberystwyth was on my list and invited me for an interview. When I arrived in the town I went straight to the seafront and immediately fell in love. I spent the next four years of my life their which were excellent but long enough. Accomodation ... I've been at aber for four years. I did my degree there, and so didn't want to leave, I did my MA there as well. Never judge a book by it's cover. My first impression of the town was to run, as fay away as possible. Coming from the city, the place seemed too alien for me. But after a couple of days, you realise how much ... Aber is the best Uni that I know of. I've visited other Uni's and none of them have the atmosphere of Aber. The University itself is really good academically but it the place and the students that really make it. The Union has some really good nights now and the town has every type of pub that you could possibly want. The sea ... Read the complete review

Aber is a great Uni, the courses are good, the lecturers are really nice and the facilities are great. However, it seems to have grown beyond its means. The town has become swamped with students, much to the disgust of the locals. Aber is a small University, which means everyone knows everyone elses business which can get really ... I like it here. I am fresher here at Aberystwyth so really haven't been here that long. One of the easiest ways to find out all about the uni is other peoples opinions and these web pages show this. With over 7,000 students to match the 12,000 inhabitants, Aberystwyth is a very student orientated place to be at Uni. A small seaside town with not much more than the university added to it. Aberystywyth University has good library facilities and moderate halls of residence, but Aberystwyth itself is so small and claustrophobic that you'll be screaming to get out if you've come from a city. Aberystwyth is THE place for Library and Information Studies. The calibre of the staff is such that many have gone on to become heads of department in other universities. I have three outstanding years at this university.
