APC Smart-UPS 1400RM ... RM UPS provides voltage correction, surge protection and instant-on battery power for systems up to 1400V/950W that cannot be allowed to fail.

This rack-mounted UPS protects connected equipment several ways. First, it protects against spikes and surges up to 480 Joules with a response time of less than a nanosecond. Second, it monitors incoming power with SmartBoost to raise voltage during brownouts and SmartTrim to step down high voltage. Third, its network-grade line conditioning protects data from line noise contamination. Protection continues when the power is out. A hot-swappable, user-replaceable battery is instantly on when power fails, providing five minutes run-time at full load, and 11 minutes run-time at half-load. A typical battery lasts from 3 to 6 years.

The Smart-UPS 1400 RM is designed for the rack-mount configuration and occupies 3U (5.25 inches) of rack space height. It is ready for network protection with the included PowerChute Plus software pack that lets network administrators customize control over power management, safety shutdowns and diagnostic tools. PowerChute Plus supports Windows NT, Novell NetWare, Windows 95, Windows for Workgroups and SNMP Agent Plug-in for NetWare and Windows NT. This UPS also features the SmartSlot accessory bay to add any one of APC's network diagnostic or management devices including UPS Interface Expander, PowerNet SNMP Adapter or Call-UPS II Remote UPS Management Device.
