Another great official product from RIM and another example to always buy official!

The Blackberry car charger is another well made product from RIM (research In Motion) and comes in very handy for owners of a Blackberry on the go. Most of you will know how an in-car charger works and this is a simple solution to charging your Blackberry in the car. Instead of a plug to slot into a plug socket this charger has an adapter to put into your cigarette socket. The other end has a Micro USB adapter which slots straight into your mobile phone. The Micro USB adapter is a standard fitting for a number of Blackberry mobile phones and I use mine for my Blackberry 8520.

The first thing to note is that this is an official RIM product - from the makers of the Blackberry. Obviously this is reassuring for users because it is a clear sign of a high quality product. I have never had a problem with their products and always endevour to find official products when I can. The charger will fit into most in-car power sockets and it charges quickly and efficiently.

The charger fits very snuggly into the cigarette lighter in my car, over time I do expect this to fit easier as with my Sat Nav charger did. This isn't an issue either, but sometimes it can be difficult to fit in to the socket.

Although I have seen these for around £10 I paid £5 for mine and for an official RIM product this is good value. One thing to note, however, is that the charger could come with a carry case. A cheap carrying case would cost little in the production of this item and would protect the charger from damage and also keep dirt out of the connectors. This is a small point, but it would have been nice to see a travel case.

Essential for phone users on the go

Due to using my phone for business purposes, and due to my business requiring me to be on the road for a few hours each day, as well as the fact that I spend the weekend driving from here there and everywhere, its essential that my phone is charged at all times. Too many times I forget to charge my phone and was left with it running out so after months of meaning to get one I purchased one of these in car Blackberry chargers a short while before Xmas and it has been a real treat.

First things first I think everyone who drives and uses a phone should have an in car charge, there is no point in having a mobile phone if it isn't charged when you are out and about and you will never know when you might need one when in your motor.

This is a typical device for the mobile charger. It has the connection to your phone on one end connected to the other by a short flexi cord. The cord itself is around 30 cm long when opened but being flexi narrows down and expands when needed. The main charger plugs into your power adaptor or ciggy lighter in the car. Depending on your car the cord and location of the charger means you can easily rest it somewhere where its going to be safe and not slide around.

The charge is as the title says 12v so it will charge your phone at a good rate. Gone are the days when the in car charger was a weak, pointless thing that would charge your phone for an hour and only add 1% battery life. This is quite different and you can use the phone as it is being charge in car in emergencies or if not add a good boost of charge in a short space of time.

And costing usually between £6-£10 its ideally priced!

The fact that it has a flexi cord and is a small item generally also means it wont take up so much space in your glove box or wherever you decide to keep it.

All in all this is an essential product for someone like me who depends on a phone a lot and is on the go all the time!
