If you want a charger which is very reliable and cheap - this is still worth considering

I am now on my second one of these chargers - the first one I had eventually gave up the ghost after about 7 years. Given how modern laptops and associated hardware are now seen as throw away consumables I personally think this is very good.

This unit comes in 2 separate bits (as shown on the picture) which separate about the main junction box; the first part plugs into the back of the laptop and ends at the junction box, the second part is a connector cable which connects into the junction box at one end and plugs into the wall at the other. Over time this can become a bit of a pain, as the connections can become loose which may mean the laptop becoming disconnected from the mains without you realising.

Another issue with this unit is it's size and weight; the unit when fully connected probably measures around 3m long. When you consider this with the fact that the junction box is quite large and chunky, the charger as a whole becomes quite large and cumbersome. For those of you who take laptops with you on the move this will cause you issues.

The main positives of this charger are that it does come with an impressive cable length, and the fact that it is very solid and reliable.

Laptops generally and the hardware which comes with them have moved on a huge amount in the years that I have used this charger, but as a cheap and reliable product this is still a good option.
