      Very helpful

useful for working on the go

This inverter is a great tool for use in the car for running devices that need to be plugged in but you don't have a car charger for them. You simply plug the inverter into your cars cigarette lighter, pop it on the floor (the cable is just long enough to allow this) and then you can either plug into it a standard 3 pin plug or a usb cable...or both at the same time if you wish.

Price at around £30 the inverter is at the more expensive end of the market, but having owned cheaper models I would go with this one. The cheaper models usually have less power so either their won't be enough power to turn on devices that you plug into it or it will work for a few minutes, overheat and shut down. This targus model however is less prone to the problem. I have used it to plug in a good range items e.g. printer, laptop, airbed pump and it has worked with all of them

As stated above this inverter will charge your devices but it will overheat if you use it extensively - I get around 45 minutes of laptop charge before it gives a very annoying high pitched squeal to tell you it has stopped charging and needs a rest. It then takes an age before it has cooled down enough to be used again: up to 2 hours on occasion
