I've been using DAEMON Tools ever since the first time I received a '.iso' file and didn't know what to do with it. Daemon Tools is a program for Windows that allows you to create '.iso' and '.mds' images, and emulate CD, DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray disk drives. There are a few different versions of Daemon Tools, but I find that the 'Lite' version (which, contrary to the other two versions, is free), has more than enough features for me. I mainly use Daemon Tools for mounting images of disks that I've backed up to my computer. A tool used by many in the illegal software/game downloading world, Daemon Tools is great. I got Daemon first to open an ISO file I had for Visual Basic Express and now use it for all sorts of CD/DVD images. Daemon is essentially a virtual CD/DVD drive and it appears in your My Computer screen like an extra drive. You can read the drive and burn to it as well. Daemon is very simple, you 'mount' the image you want to run and Daemon opens it as if you had burned it to disc and inserted it into your disc drive. When I got my ADSL connection the first thing that I download was a freeware program that I wanted to have. After completing the download I notice that there is a strange extension in the name and I didn't able to open the file. So I went on line and I search the web what's the deal with this. And this is have I came on cross of Daemon tools. I fund out that my file is in image format (format, that is often use by CD/DVD burners, to store a "selection of files" that are going to be burned).
