Disadvantages: US based
The people who criticise Gators open access to their passwords have obviously never read the question and answer section that comes with it. For the uninitiated gator is a little free download that pops up when you're browsing the net and any sort of form or application appears on the screen,in theory it will fill in your name and address but it is set up for the U.S. type address and telephone. The good thing is that you can drag and drop the items from it and for me that's quicker than typing. Log on information requests can be filled in if it's been programmed for that page click fill in and no typing is neccessary.
Back to the security. Even if you are the sole user of a computer you can protect every user name and password entered in Gator under your name by entering a password under the settings section. This means that unless this is entered, access to your named passwords etc is denied. So much for insecurity as for the reporting your surfing back to base, I've used Gator frequently for about 9 months and haven't had any junk mail because Outlook Express has it's own junk filter which works if only it's turned on so that eliminates that problem. I'll admit its set up for US addresses is a bit of a hindrance but unless your a trained typist dragging and dropping is quicker than typing for the average form filler. In my opinion Gator is worth every penny you don't have to spend on it
