I must admit I like Kaspersky. I've been using it for at least 4 years and each year I fall more and more in love with it.The developers of this antivirus can definately brag that they have found the secret to creating a lightweight antivirus product with good detection rates, that does not buy systematically the user and that has an extremelly low false positive rate.
The user interface is quite appealing. Their is no clutter and most options are easy to find. The scans also run in background and do not degrade the computer's performance significantly.
Kaspersky is also very fast compared to its competition. It does not take to long to run through a rather large harddrive.
The antivirus also updates very frequently hence increasing protection.
The product is, however, a little expensive, although I think all AVs are overpriced considering there are several AVs that are free and provide adequate protection.
Overall, Kaspersky is an exceptional antivirus application. Definately my antivirus choice this year, and probably throughout the next decade.
Kaspersky is my choice of Anti-Virus software over all the other big brands such as Norton, Avast! and McAffee.
The latest version of Kaspersky (2009) has a brand new user interface that makes it really easy to use the software.
The different tabs in the software include "Protection" that is constantly monitoring running programs, tasks and anything new that you attempt to run or download, even websites you visit.
This is good as it stops you getting any viruses from installing viruses as the files are scanned beforehand so the virus cannot infect your PC.
The "Scan" option allows you to scan your whole computer and easily remove any viruses that it finds. This is best run automatically every week or so to make sure that your computer is virus free.
As Kaspersky is packed with many other features such as system restore software, the option to create a rescue disc and a security analyser it is definitely worth the license fee.
