Too fussy (McAfee VirusScan)
Member Name: bluetack
Advantages: it works Disadvantages: fussy interface, slows your boot up time
Mcafee virus scan may well be a superb virus scanner but its too damnd fussy, your PC seems to take an age to boot with this scanner installed but once its booted things are fine and it does its job, my biggest gripe is the interface the scanner uses, its just too fussy, there are products that equal mcafee in every respect but with interfaces that are very simple to understand and in plain english. I got mcafee free as a full product because i used to use homeguard and with that being registered they sent me this as a superior product, i installed it and 20 mins later un-installed it which leads me to another point the program doesnt like to be taken off! it leaves bits of its self all over the shop, and to make matters worse the bits its leaves still affect the performance of your machine and they dont like other virus scanners being installed. I would not recommend the use of a scanner but as these things are what you think works best, i cant. Summary: |
