It caters for the security of your network and fulfills all firewall functions in order to protect your data while you are in the Internet. It is a powerful proxy server that is intended for business of all sizes and the first firewall product to include high-performance content caching.

Microsoft Proxy Server supports inbound and outbound packets filtering. With new integrated intelligence system the Server decides itself which packets are allowed to pass through the secured network. It has a very flexible alarm system and will immediately inform you if your network is under attack. You can locate different applications and even Web servers behind one Proxy Server. Now you can cache not only HTTP 1.0 objects - you can also cache HTTP 1.1 and FTP objects. There is greater control over the Time-to-Live (TTL) setting, as well, with Microsoft Proxy Server version 2.0. It has become easier to control and administrate: you can do it either remotely via a Web-browser or locally. Multiple proxy servers can be administered simultaneously via transparent Array based administration. This allows change to be propagated to other proxy servers with a single mouse click. You can automatically configure Web Proxy clients by using predefined JavaScripts or by creating your own scripts for great ease-of-use and fast enterprise-wide deployment. Proxy Server requires 486/33 MHz or higher, or Pentium or Pentium PRO processor Intel Pentium 133 MHz if supporting up to 300 desktop PCs /Intel Pentium 166 MHz if supporting more than 300 desktop PCs.
