McAfee VirusScan ... McAfee Virus scan meant that I didn't get infected by the virus that attaches to JPG files and was sent to me by an infected computer. As soon as I tried to open the attachment I was asked if I wanted to continue as it contained a virus. I chose to delete instead. It's that simple. There are a lot of things I don't yet know how to use, like how to retrive the back up files, but I hope it will never get to the stage where I have to do that. My one complaint is that you have to change the settings to get it to scan e-mail. As I'm not very technical I don't like playing around with new software. McAfee VirusScan ... is without doubt the best antivirus software on the market. It is very easy to install and use and regular updates are provided via the McAfee Website. However the best thing about this product is the relatively low amount of CPU usage that it consumes whilst running, I have used the other virus products (mainly Norton which consumes a large amount of the CPU). When this product detects a virus it can generally repair it without any hassle, occasionaly it can only repair viruses by removing a file. We thought we were fine, until one day we booted up the old 'puter and suddenly a funny looking tools driver box came up. It ran a couple of files and then disappeared. We knew that we've caught a virus. The free virus checker although regularly updated detected nothing! Now was the time to fork out some notes for a proper Virus Checker!"
