McAfee VirusScan ... is without doubt the best antivirus software on the market. It is very easy to install and use and regular updates are provided via the McAfee Website. However the best thing about this product is the relatively low amount of CPU usage that it consumes whilst running, I have used the other virus products (mainly Norton which consumes a large amount of the CPU). When this product detects a virus it can generally repair it without any hassle, occasionaly it can only repair viruses by removing a file. Everybody should have some sort of Antivirus protection and this product does the job very well at a very good price. ... Read the full review: No Virus on me! by |

McAfee VirusScan ... bought this software on the recommendation of the store where we bought it from. It is great at detecting viruses and is fairly up to date. You can download new virus update files every few days from their update site for free. However compared to other software I think it could be more user friendly. The automatic update often will not connect and you have to manually donwload the update file. Unless you have the correct email software it won't scan your emails for viruses just any files you open. Installation takes about 15 minutes, depending on the speed of your hard disk, while a full system scan is made before completing installation including the memory resident programs. Once finished, configure the update settings to 'automatically check for new DAT files', the FTP site is added for you and that is about it.
